The Rely Standard

Published,
not promised.

Most scrubs are sold on a feeling. Ours are sold on a threshold and the test that produced it — eight specifications every roll has to clear before it carries the Rely name.

/01Durability & Movement
≥ 15 N

Tears at no less than 15 newtons

ASTM D1424

A snag on a bed rail or a cart corner stretches the weave instead of opening a hole.

≥ 350 N grab tensile

Grab tensile at no less than 350 newtons

ASTM D5034

Heavy lifting, sudden bending and deep squatting are the document’s own examples of what this fabric strength is built to withstand, without a seam splitting.

Grade 4.0 minimum at 2,000 rubs

Grade 4.0 minimum for pilling after abrasion

ASTM D4970

The surface stays smooth where a badge reel, a stethoscope or a seat belt rubs it every shift.

/02Industrial Laundering & Colour Vitality
≤ ±2.5% dimensional change

Holds its fit to within ±2.5% after washing

AATCC TM135

On a 32-inch inseam that is about three quarters of an inch — enough to notice, which is why the figure is printed rather than called zero.

Grade 4.0 colour retention

Grade 4.0 colourfastness to industrial laundering

AATCC TM61

Grade 4.0 on a five-point scale is strong, not absolute: the colour holds its depth through repeated hot washes.

Grade 3.5 wet / 4.0 dry crocking; Grade 4.0 min. chlorine-splash resistance (light colours)

Grade 3.5 wet crocking, so transfer is slight rather than absent

AATCC TM8 / TM188

Grade 3.5 permits slight transfer by definition, so a wet navy sleeve against a white coat is stated, not denied.

/03Shift-Long Comfort
160–180 GSM

160–180 GSM: opaque without weight

ASTM D3776

Heavy enough not to show what is underneath, light enough that a twelve-hour shift does not feel like one.

OWTI > 100

One-way transport index above 100

AATCC TM195

TM195 measures how strongly moisture moves from the skin side to the outer face. It is a transport figure, not a drying time.
